This image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows a cluster of galaxies that have drawn together by gravity, over vast expanses. They are also connected by light. Could there be other connections?
Connections
Before’d begun the universe was one.
Then time was born with mass and energy
and all were scattered towards oblivion
or some would say around an apogee.
Then warps appeared in those trajectories;
great gobs of matter gravid clusters formed.
The cloudy swirls made stars and galaxies.
Nuclear fusion fuels the stellar storms.
Then molecules arose from larger atoms
replicating clusters gave life birth,
evolved into the sentient being: adam
who scours the skies to seek beyond his earth.
We’ve just begun to grasp what’s writ in heaven
connect with others, mend what was once riven.
It has taken five billion years for life on Earth to begin to understand the Cosmos. Is intelligent life confined to our planet?
Is intelligence another type of force? It didn’t exist (at least in the form we know) in the early universe. Yet it is connecting, through reason, with the furthest depths of space and time. Perhaps our momentary existence is part of a process to reach out and bring it all together again. This is the essence of noetic science.
The distances we know are too vast to span physically, but we have just begun to understand the forces that guide the universal design. Perhaps there are forces connecting us through ways beyond the fetters of light.
There are ways to connect outside the box of space:time. Anyone who has experienced intuition has experienced transcendence, although science does not fully acknowledge it. Our future depends on finding these threads.
We do not know the answers to the puzzles posed by the heavens. We can only marvel at what we have learned and look forward to what new revelations will come.
Is it not amazing what we know from studying the heavens? And there is so much we don’t yet understand.
