Horizons

The sky‘s the limit holding in our dreams.
The tissues of our thirsts divert our thoughts
and carnal inclinations spur our schemes.
To eat to breed to withstand times onslaughts.
Through learning weave a purpose in our lives
connected with the views of our forebears.
How meaning from our temporal trace derives
the notion there’s a higher force upstairs.
We seldom mind the signals heaven shows
connecting us through light with other stars.
Encircled by five trillion embryos
who gaze and wonder at their night’s memoirs.
Beyond our swirl a billion milky ways
atavistic myths now set ablaze.

The pace of discovery about the nature of the Universe and our place in it has accelerated. We need our connections with the past and connect with the wisdom and experience of those who went before us. Yet many of our preconceptions about the nature of time and space are only true within certain confines, and we need open our minds to new concepts.

Intuition, extrasensory perception, empathy all reflect linkages beyond kindred souls. We need to analyze and understand how these processes work as a means to connect with others, both within our environs and beyond.
